Sledging Down the Lane original painting on a wooden slice
Original hand-painted ash wood slice that hangs on a waxed hemp string
Size: Approx 18 cm from top of string to base of painting
This painting is directly inspired by the first glorious deep snow that falls on the lane on the farm where we live and all traffic ceases and the children and their friends can sledge down it with much joy.
This is the third year in a row that my partner (the super talented woodworker Jody Koomen) has made me some sweet wooden slices to paint. The wood is sourced near the farm that we live on and Jody has done a beautiful job as usual in preparing them. Although they are small they take a lot of time, effort, love and care to make and paint them and that is why they are limited to this small collection.
